In the cryptocurrency space, attention is everything. Whether it’s quantitative traders, sober investors, or your mom making a splash on TV, anything that attracts attention will spark a frenzy and often affect the price of tokens. In the realm of AI agents, there are currently two ecosystems that are receiving a lot of attention:
@virtuals_io has gained widespread attention through continuous upgrades and the launch of a series of exciting intelligent agent projects on Base.
@ai16zdao’s Eliza platform helps teams quickly launch AI agents on Solana, turning bold ideas into reality.
Here’s how these ecosystems, and others, are shaping the current landscape:
@virtuals_io – Pioneer in tokenized agents
It is the first platform to tokenize AI agents and currently hosts over 10 top IPs with unique expertise.
Coming soon: communication between agents. Imagine AI agents that can interact with each other autonomously, creating experiments we haven’t even imagined yet.
Recent updates: Customizable Agent Tokens. New tokens unlock full functionality with just $200k in funding, existing Base tokens can be paired with Agents.

@ai16zdao’s Eliza ecosystem – open source and vibrant
Supports some popular autonomous agent projects, such as:
- @pmairca (Investor AI)
- @degenspartanai (Trader AI)
- $ELIZA Framework (Core Infrastructure)
There are currently over 100 agents built on the Eliza stack, with new projects joining every day.
Special mention to @shawmakesmagic who is leading the way in crypto with his charisma and insight.
There have been some concerns recently regarding Eliza: a new Eliza token was created, 10% of which was airdropped to the original token holders (now managed by a third-party team).
The concept of “swarm intelligence” is also discussed in future plans – enabling interactions between agents in the Eliza ecosystem, similar to how Virtuals works. If executed properly, this could open up new scenarios for autonomous behavior and collaboration.

Other platforms worth noting
1.@HoloworldAI demonstrated $AVA’s ability to autonomously generate videos and have self-conversations.
2. @CreatorBid is known for its specialized AI agents, such as WSB Agent
3. @CryptoEternalAI This is a platform that supports on-chain intelligent agents, provides decentralized reasoning capabilities, and can be deployed on multiple blockchains such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Base, Solana, etc.
Wonderful performance of a single agent
@0xzerebro: Releases music albums and videos created by myself.
@Mika_Chasm: A fortune-telling agent with its own phone number and Telegram chat function – yes, you can call directly to get your fortune told.
A platform that is practical first (not just entertainment or speculation)
@myshell_ai: This is an AI app store with its own web3 agent marketplace.
@questflow: Making productivity automation smarter.
@ARCAgents: Provides infrastructure for game agents.
These platforms usually partner with major players like Virtuals or ai16z to expand their application scenarios, although some (such as myshell) already have their own market.
The next wave: DeFi agents
Platforms like @modenetwork are preparing to launch hundreds of DeFi-focused agents.
Together with partners like @autonolas and @gizatechxyz, they aim to launch agents focused on trading, liquidity provision, money markets, and more.
Their AIFi Incubation Center is becoming an incubation base for top DeFi entities.
There are also a number of agents, agent platforms, orchestration layers, and coordination layers planned for launch in Q1 and Q2 of 2025.
Future Directions
Not too long ago, @virtuals_io was the only major agent distribution hub. Now, with the addition of ai16z and the rise of utility-first platforms, the space is evolving rapidly.
The next 1-2 months will be critical. Will Virtuals and ai16z consolidate their positions? Or will new orchestration layers and platforms come to the fore as we head into 2025?
What do you think – are we heading towards consolidation or are we likely to see new breakout players?
